What ages and year levels is Spellaroo for?
Spellaroo is built for primary-school children. The Junior division suits Years 3–4 (roughly Grades 3–4) and the Senior division suits Years 5–6 (Grades 5–6), but any child building spelling skills can use it.
Is Spellaroo free to try?
Yes. Junior Level 1 is free to start with no payment. A one-off A$29 seasonal pass unlocks every Junior and Senior word list.
Does Spellaroo work outside Australia?
Yes. While the word lists follow Australian spelling, the practice works for any English-speaking family in the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand and beyond.
Where do the word lists come from?
Spellaroo's Junior and Senior divisions cover over 2,200 competition-style Australian spelling words, each with a definition and an example sentence, grouped into levels that step up in difficulty.
Does Spellaroo use Australian or American spelling?
Spellaroo uses Australian/British English spelling (for example 'colour' and 'practise'), which makes it ideal for Australian, UK and other Commonwealth students.
